Well, that’s just perfect. I’ve been thinking about writing about what it’s like to turn 30 soon and what I should/shouldn’t do before or after that but I haven’t had any inspiration for it because the truth be told; it’s not going to be any different from being 28 or 29.
In addition, I don’t like bucket lists or listing unnecessary tasks for myself. I tested this theory couple months back and proved to myself that bucket lists simply aren’t for me.
So, I’m not going to list 25 things to do in the next 6 months because the fact is most of them would be forcibly thought out things that I have no intention of carrying out anyway. And the rest would be uninteresting everyday stuff, such as “I will eat every day”, “I will go to work”, etc, and nobody wants to read that.
Instead I shall give you a little recap of my future plans. So, here follows:
My Plans Before And After Turning 30!
I’m not one for age crisis but I guess turning 30 is some sort of subconscious milestone. For a lot of my generation the 20’s were the carefree period when you could just do you; travel, party, enjoy life exactly as you wanted. But when people start to get closer to the next decade they become serious.
Planning ones future, family, work-life balance, all such things suddenly become much more relevant than what they were at the age of 25.
I wouldn’t say I’ve been planning much. For the past 2 years I’ve used all my time and energy on surviving from one day to the next so there hasn’t been much head-space for anything else.
But since meeting my boyfriend almost a year ago and learning about his job in 21st century Marketing (that stuff has nothing to do with the ancient sort of Marketing that we were taught in Uni.) has given me a whole new set of goals and inspiration.
And those goals and that inspiration has everything to do with this blog and where I want to take it!
Everything I’ve done for the past 6 months and everything I will be doing for the next 6 months will be 100% focused on keeping this blog active, improving its quality and on finding a way to get out of Estonia. Because there’s no escaping the fact that if I stay here this blog will not survive: it’s too cold, too dark and just plain boring here. I should know.
To be honest I might not survive if I stay here :D
So, there it is, my future plans: improving this blog and making it bigger in every sense of the word, plus moving out of Estonia. I think those are big enough plans to have when the magical number 30 is fast approaching.
I would love to hear your stories and plans when it comes to turning 30. Did you or do you have plans?
