I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t enjoyed my time in Estonia.
BUT every now and then this tiny country surprises me! One such occasion was the festival arranged in Tallinn this week: taking advantage of the darkening evenings candles and light shows erected all over the Old Town and the Kadriorg Park and Palace.
A colleague of mine had her last week working with us and she couldn’t have gotten a more perfect farewell evening than the one we spent with her on Wednesday. We met in Kadriorg, an area that even on an average day is inspiring and beautiful with its decorative, colourful houses, and headed to the park with a swan lake.
The party was already ongoing and sprays of water were springing up towards the sky in rhythm with classical music. Such classics as Nutcracker and the Swan Lake, which is my favourite ballet so far. The lights were mesmerizing, the music was delightful and the atmosphere was that which you do not often find in Tallinn; full of joy and smiles.
