Photography task: What I wore
Location: Kadriorg Palace
Camera setting: Portrait
Photography task 2 is definitely my favourite kind. I love clothes, mixing and matching clothes, buying clothes, just clothes.
My dress sense has always been a bit outside-the-box in the sense that I like to stand out from the crowd. Whether it’s about wearing a bright red winter jacket or high heels with spikes on them, I’ve probably done it.
For this photo task I went for the ultimate Summer outfit; the white dress with lace details.
This look is a classic and it’s in fashion every single Summer no matter what the main trend each year might be. But what makes the white dress the classic that it is? In my opinion it’s the lightness both in colour and in style.
Where black colour sucks up the heat of the Sun, white is the sort of colour that stays cool even on a hot day. A flowy white dress is the most comfortable option for a warm day, and it’s also very versatile; wear casually with a pair or sandals to a picnic and add a pair of heels to achieve a dressed-up look for the evening.
This dress is, in my opinion, too fancy for a picnic, though, so I tend to wear it only for evening events: cocktails on a terrace or a dinner date.
These pictures were taken in one of the most beautiful parts of Tallinn; Kadorg park and the garden behind the palace. It’s a bit secluded behind a suburban area East from the Old Town and city center, so it’s not usually crowded by tourists. If there are tourists 80% of them are Russian. And me, I love the park and the little forest behind it; it’s the best place to go running.
The writing task for this second day was ‘What do I look forwards to’. My plans for the next 12 months are in fact quite big. First of all I will turn 30 in the beginning of next year, how cool is that! And for that reason (OK, let’s be honest, this is all a coincidence) next year should be something special:
Last Spring I gave myself one year to save up money and come up with a plan of getting out of Estonia. I sort of started from the scratch but as Life tends to do, things started to clear themselves up in front of me quite quickly after the decision was made.
I still don’t know where exactly I will move but the fact that I will be moving is 100% sure, my ideas jump between Austria and Philippines so I’m quite open-minded. My money situation hasn’t really improved much from the day I set this target for myself but I don’t see it as an obstacle anymore. I’ll find a way to finance the move, I’m sure.
I also have big plans in regards to my blog. But those I will not be spilling quite yet, I still need time to work on my ideas to bring them to life. The layout already got a makeover so we’re gradually moving forwards.
To be quite honest if my blog would be in a place that I would wish it to be within the next 12 months that would be quite surprising. The fact is, these things take time and patience and a lot of work. But it’s not impossible and that’s what I’m focusing on right now!
The best thing about everything right now is that I have found my passion again. That passion that I had when I lived in Slovakia, the passion that made every day that much more special and which I lost within the first 3 months after moving to Estonia.
